Gopichand has officially announced his 33rd film, titled Bharatvarsha – Saga of Shula. Directed by Sankalp, the film is said to be a powerful and brutal saga set in a glorious ancient era.

The makers recently shared its official glimpse on social media. Earlier titled Gopichand33, the upcoming film is touted to be a period action drama with a serious backdrop. It is said that the film sets out on a journey to bring to the fore an important and forgotten chapter of Indian history, transforming the scale, intensity and emotions into a grand cinematic experience.
Sharing the update, the team wrote, “An era of glory… a land of legends… a story buried in time… now… it has emerged.”

Apart from Gopichand, the film stars Ritu Varma, Vinod Kumar, Gaavi Chahal, Thanikela Bharani, Rakesh Varre, Bharath Reddy, Chhatrapati Shekhar, Ravi Varma, Kishore, Karthikeya, Madhumani and many other actors in lead roles.
Written and directed by Sankalp, the film will have tracks and score composed by Anudeep Dev. Editing will be done by Chhota K Prasad, with Soundar Rajan S handling the cinematography. Tilak Nimmala has written the dialogues.
Although the premise and scale looks promising, the makers have not yet clarified the release date.
Gopichand’s work front
Macho star Gopichand was earlier seen in the lead role in the film Vishwam. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the action comedy tells the story of an officer posing as a taxi driver to protect a young girl, Darshana, who witnesses an assassination by a terrorist network aiming to attack India while dealing with past betrayals and romance with Sameera.
Along with Kavya Thapar in the co-lead role, the film featured Jisshu Sengupta, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Naresh, Shaam and many others in lead roles. The film was released to mixed reviews from critics and performed averagely at the box office. It is available for streaming on Aha.
