Google is one of the leading brands in the world of AI. With the Google Pixel 9 series, it brought many AI features, but now it is planning to go beyond that. Google currently has an AI assistant called Gemini, but it looks like another AI will be coming soon. How will we know? Recently, Google released a glimpse of its secret project – JARVIS, named after Tony Stark’s AI assistant in Marvel’s Iron Man, which can do more than just write reminders. According to The Informant, Google accidentally leaked a preview of its Jarvis AI on the store page.
The leaked store page describes the Jarvis prototype as “a helpful companion that surfs the web for you.” This means that the upcoming Google AI will do many of the user’s tasks on its own. For example, Jarvis will be able to easily perform common tasks like booking tickets, buying groceries, and researching topics.
This also means that Google’s latest AI can operate the computer independently, handling tasks directly without human intervention. Although the initial version appeared on Google’s Extension Store for a short time, it was not fully functional; A reporter’s attempt to test Jarvis was blocked by access restrictions, preventing any work from being performed.
Google took down the Jarvis Store listing by mid-afternoon, ahead of the expected official launch in December. This AI will face competition from similar systems like Anthropic’s Cloud, which entered public beta last month. Unlike basic devices, the cloud has capabilities that go beyond browser functions, enabling it to type, click, and move the cursor on a computer.
What is Google’s Jarvis Project?
Project Jarvis is set to become a consumer-friendly AI tool within Google Chrome, designed to automate routine web tasks. Google plans to unveil Jarvis in December along with the latest version of its Gemini AI model, called Gemini 2.0. Following this preview, the tool can be tested by early users and could become a highlight in Google’s campaign to showcase the capabilities of the new Gemini model.
With Jarvis, users can expect to delegate specific online tasks to AI. For example, by simply instructing, “I have $500, find me a vacation for these dates, book it and tell me the details,” Jarvis will handle everything from browsing to booking, then send the information back to the user. Will give.
The AI interacts directly with the Chrome browser, using “AI vision” to interpret on-screen elements and determine where to click and what to type based on captured screenshots. Unlike Anthropic’s Cloud, which can control an entire computer, Jarvis currently only works within Chrome. However, if the technology is later integrated into ChromeOS, a future version could be expanded to control the entire system, although no such plans have been confirmed in current reports.
