The first look of Ajith Kumar’s racing film Gladiators – In Pursuit of Challenges was released on his 55th birthday. It brings his training and team to cinemas while highlighting his international motorsport campaign.

Directed by AL Vijay, the film is set to release in theatres. While the announcement stated that the docu-film will be released soon and the date is yet to be announced, an earlier report had said that the documentary is scheduled for theatrical release on 1 May next year, coinciding with Ajith Kumar’s 56th birthday.

The film is presented by Ajit Kumar Sports Services LLC. Sharing the first look, the makers wrote, “Ajith Kumar Sports Services LLC presents Gladiators – In search of challenges. #Gladiators is a film based on Ajith Kumar’s motorsport journey, chasing the impossible. The race begins soon. To release in theaters soon.” He further added, “Sakshi and picturisation by #Vijay. Music by @gvprakash (sic).”

The glimpse highlights Ajit Kumar’s passion for motorsport, his training and his participation in the Asian Le Mans Series 2025-26 with his team. It also includes footage from racing circuits in Malaysia and Europe, and covers his team Ajith Kumar Racing.
The project, originally planned as a documentary, has also been described in reports as a feature-length film. The 90-minute film is expected to showcase Ajith Kumar’s commitment to motorsport, including his participation in global racing events such as his 24H Series race in Belgium and endurance races like the Dubai 24H Series.
The film also aims to shed light on motorsport, which is often seen as an elitist discipline in India, by presenting Ajith Kumar’s journey on track.
