France should withdraw the Statue of Liberty as the US no longer represents the values that inspired France to offer the statue, a French Euro-Deepti on Sunday.
“We Statue of Liberty De Do”, Center-leftist politician Rafael Glossman said at a conference of his place Public Center-Left Movement.
He said, “We are going to tell the Americans who have chosen the Americans who have taken out the researchers to demand scientific freedom with the oppressors: ‘Give us back to Statue of Liberty,” he asked the cheering supporters.
He said, “We gave it as a gift, but obviously you hate it. So it would be fine here at home,” he said.
The Statue of Liberty was unveiled on October 28, 1886 at the port in New York City, for the US declaration of freedom as a gift from the French people to the US. It is designed by Frenchman Augustay Bartholdi.
Paris has a small copy of the statue on a small island on the scene in Paris.
Ukraine’s staunch protector glucusman has strongly criticized the radical change of the American policy of President Donald Trump on the war.
He also took Trump’s cuts for American research institutes, which has already inspired the initiative of a French government to attract some of them to work in France.
“The other thing we are going to say to the Americans is: ‘If you want to set your best researchers on fire, if you want to set fire to all those who have made your country the leading power of the world, through their freedom and innovation spirit, through doubt and research, through their taste, your country has been made to welcome them,” we are going to welcome them.
Since Trump returned to the White House in January, his government cut federal research funding and demanded dismissal of hundreds of federal workers working on health and climate research.
Glucksmann also criticized far-flung leaders in France, accusing him of being a “fan club” for Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, who are leading the President’s efforts to cut spending.
