Ginny Weds Sunny 2 starring Avinash Tiwari and Medha Shankar had a disappointing opening. As per estimates, the romantic comedy drama directed by Prashant Jha has collected around Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. Earned 25 lakhs on the first day at the Indian box office. It’s a bad start, to say the least.
A sluggish start for the romantic comedy drama was already expected as it failed to impress the audience with its promotional material including the trailer and songs, which would have helped it get off to a decent start.
The film needs to show miraculous growth over the weekend to reach a respectable total. Ginny Weds Sunny 2 received mixed responses among the audience, which should be a matter of concern for the makers. The romantic drama was always intended to have a slow start, but if it had received a positive reception it would have seen good growth. But now the situation looks difficult for the film.
For those unaware, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2020 release Ginny Weds Sunny starring Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. The original film was a direct-to-OTT release, and received mixed reviews.
