Veteran poet, writer, filmmaker and former MP Pritish Nandy passed away on Wednesday at the age of 73. His son Kushan Nandy confirmed the news of his death to India Today. Many celebrities including Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Ranveer Shorey, Sudhir Mishra and Neil Nitin Mukesh expressed their condolences through social media.

Actor Anil Kapoor expressed his “shock” on learning the sad news. Kapoor shared a picture of Nandy on ” ,

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh paid his final tribute to the late filmmaker and wrote on ” And may you find strength in this difficult time, may your soul rest in peace, sir.”

Actor Ranveer Shorey, who was last seen in Bigg Boss OTT, wrote, “Shocked and saddened to hear about the demise of @PritishNandi sir! He was a man of love and shared so many talents with Allen! He loved so many.” To all the talented people who put the film business on the map! Thank you, and goodbye, RIP!

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra remembers Pritish Nandy and shares an emotional post on X. It read, “What can one say about Pritish Nandy? One can say that he lived well, loved well, fought well, didn’t suffer fools, had a sharp edge.” A bitter sense of humor, like no other. After the jokes, after the laughter came peace when you realized he had given you a lesson in life.”

Pritish Nandy made his mark as a film producer. He founded a production house called Pritish Nandy Communications, which has produced many critically acclaimed and commercially successful films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Mirabai Not Out, Ugly Aur Pagli, Shaadi Ke Side Effects and Jhankaar Beats.
