Kaufman, discussing his relationship with Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the iconic sitcom, spoke to him two days before his death. He told many times“About two weeks before (he died), he and I were FaceTiming, and he seemed really good.”

She further explained how she wants the world to remember and celebrate Matthew Perry. “Two things come to mind (about honoring him): One of them is to donate to a drug treatment center — let’s fight the disease. And the other way is to watch Friends and remember him not as a person who died like that, but as a person who was super funny and brought joy to everybody,” Kauffman said.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials said on Thursday, August 15, that criminal charges have been filed against five people in connection with the death of Matthew Perry.

US Attorney Martin Estrada said the defendants included two doctors, an assistant of Perry’s and ‘Ketamine Queen’ Jasveen Sangha, who were part of “an extensive underground criminal network” that distributed large quantities of the drug ketamine to the actor and others.

“These defendants exploited Mr. Perry’s addiction to enrich themselves,” Estrada said at a news conference in Los Angeles.
