Chocolate manufacturer Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd. has announced a recall of chocolate in England, Scotland and Wales. The recall was issued after it was found that the products contained milk and soy that are not listed on the label.Consumers who are allergic to milk or soy are being urged not to consume these products. The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised affected customers to return the products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.The recalled chocolates include new shaped products such as ladybirds, butterflies, hearts and sports cars.Although the products are not considered a risk to the general public, they can cause severe allergic reactions in people who cannot consume milk or soy.

Why are chocolates being recalled?
According to the Food Standards Agency, Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd is recalling the products because they contain milk and soya which are missing from the ingredients information on the packaging.Food labels are important because they help people with allergies identify ingredients that may trigger serious reactions. When allergies are not declared, consumers may unknowingly eat food that is unsafe for them.“These products contain milk and soy which poses a potential health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk components and/or to soy,” the FSA said.
List of recalled products
The recall involves several novelty chocolate products. These include medium-colored ladybirds with best-by dates of January 16, 2028, and March 1, 2027; Little Red Ladybird with best dates of January 21, 2027 and January 25, 2027; Large red heart with best by dates of November 22, 2027, December 23, 2027, and December 26, 2027; Mini Butterflies with best by dates of March 21, 2027 and September 9, 2027; And sports cars with a best by date of August 15, 2027.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk components, or an allergy to soya, should check if they have purchased any of these products.
