Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and singer Atif Aslam’s Instagram account has become disabled in India. This means that users in the country will not be able to reach their profiles. Earlier, actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan’s accounts were also disabled. It came after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, who killed 26 tourists while injured.

If you try to open Fawad and Atif’s Instagram profiles, read the message, “Account is not available in India. The reason is that we have complied with legal request to ban this material.”

The note further says, “We got a legal request to restrict this material. We reviewed it against our policies and a legal and human rights evaluation. After a review, we banned access to content at the location where it goes against local law. You can learn more about material restrictions in our transparency center.”

Both Fawad and Atif enjoy a large -scale fan in India.

Other Pakistani celebrities whose Instagram accounts have been disabled in India are Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas and Sajal Ellie.

Not only celebrities’ Instagram accounts, India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels to spread allegedly stimulating and communally sensitive material, as well as false stories that target the country, its army and security agencies, said government sources.

Apart from Fawad’s Instagram account, his upcoming Bollywood film which was slate to release on May 9, has also faced a boycott call amidst the increase in tension between India and Pakistan.
