Favad Khan condemned the Pahalgam attack by the film Federation amidst Abir Gulal’s ban
Actor Favad Khan condemned the Pahalgam terror attack after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artists. His film, ‘Abir Gulal’, which was slated for release on 9 May, has now been banned.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan wrote that he was deeply saddened by the Pahgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people. His message came at a time when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artists. It should be noted that Fawd’s upcoming film, ‘Abir Gulal’, with Vani Kapoor, will not watch daylight to release on 9 May.
In his message on Instagram, Fawad Khan mentioned that his thoughts and prayers are currently with the victims. His message read, “He was deeply saddened to hear the news of a heinous attack in Pahgam (SIC).”

The federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated the 2019 instructions against Pakistani artists in India, amidst terrible attacks on tourists in Bairsran Valley of Pahgam. After the attack, the increasing tension between India and Pakistan has now influenced the release of ‘Abir Gulal’ and cooperation with Pakistani artists.
On Wednesday, FWIS issued a statement that condemned a cowardly attack on innocent tourists. With a reference to the 2019 Pulwama attack, the association wrote, “This hateful act, Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Resistance Front (TRF)-A was claimed by a proxy, echoing the life of February 14, 2019, which burys the Pulwama attack on 40 February, 2019.”
“In view of these repeated attacks, FWICE confirmed its unwavering commitment to national interest and solidarity. We repeat our instructions, originally released on February 18, 2019, all Pakistan are calling for complete non-cooperation with artists, singers and technicians within the Indian film and entertainment industry.”
The film body also stated that they will take all the necessary steps to stop the release of ‘Abir Gulal’.
“Despite this ongoing instructions, we have come to know about recent cooperation with Pakistani actor Favad Khan for Hindi film Abir Gulal. In the light of the recent attack in Pahgam, FWICE is once again forced to release a blanket boycott in all Pakistani artists, singers, and technologies. The world,” read the statement.
In addition, the Federation announced that it would take action against directors, technicians and production houses to cooperate with Pakistani artists.
“FWICE wants to emphasize that any member of our organization or its affiliated associations such as actors, directors, other technicians and production houses collaborating with producers or Pakistani personnel will be subjected to disciplinary action. In addition, we will take all necessary steps to ensure that Abir Gulal is not released in India.”
FWIC expressed its solidarity with the victims of the attack and urged the film fraternity to maintain the spirit of national integrity.
‘Abir Gulal’ was slated for a release globally on 9 May. The film features Shwad Khan, Vanni Kapoor, Soni Razdan and Riddhi Dogra in Pivolell roles. At this turn, it should be noted that the release ‘Abir Gulal Ki’ has been stopped in India.
On Tuesday, gunmen set fire against tourists in the Besaran valley of the initiative of Jammu and Kashmir. One of the worst terrorist attacks so far, the event – which took place around 2.30 pm – claimed at least 26 lives, including 2 foreigners.
