Veteran playback singer P Jayachandran passed away on January 9 at the age of 80. With a career spanning over six decades, Jayachandran sang over 16,000 songs and breathed his last while being treated at a private hospital in Thrissur.

Jayachandran, known as Bhava Gayakan (singer of emotions), has left behind a remarkable legacy in Indian music. Known for her soulful and emotional voice, she has enthralled audiences across generations by lending her voice to songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

His ability to evoke deep emotions through his singing has earned him a special place in the hearts of music lovers and has earned him several awards, including a National Film Award for Best Playback Singer, five Kerala State Film Awards, four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards , Are included.
