FactCheck: Tabu angry with Akshay, Priyadarshan for edited role in Bhoot Bangla?
Bhoot Bangla director Priyadarshan has clarified reports that Tabu was angry with him and lead actor Akshay Kumar over alleged editing of her role. Read what he said here.
Filmmaker Priyadarshan addressed the speculations surrounding actor Tabu and her role in the new horror comedy, ghost bangla. She strongly denied reports that she was unhappy with the edits made to her character.
There were rumors that Tabu was reportedly angry with co-star Akshay Kumar and the director after parts of her role in the film were cut. Responding to the rumours, Priyadarshan termed them baseless.

He further clarified that Tabu was not upset, noting that he has worked with her in eight films and he would have known if there were any problems. He said that he is happy and whatever he shot is part of the film.
Some reports also suggested that Tabu’s parts were reduced at Akshay Kumar’s request to increase her screen time. However, the director strongly denied the claims.
He added, “Also, Akshay never asked me to edit any part; he never does. I do my work honestly and every actor comes to watch the film before release. Whoever is spreading such rumors should be ashamed.”
Priyadarshan and Tabu have a long professional association, having worked together in films before black water (1996), Heritage (1997), Foul play (2000), and Snegithiye (2000).
ghost bangla Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar are reuniting after a gap of 14 years. The film stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vamika Gabbi and late actor Asrani.
The project is backed by Akshay Kumar as well as producers Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
