In the last few years, Excel Entertainment has created successful franchises like Don and Fukrey. Not only this, there is a constant demand from the audience for the sequel of Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol starrer Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. On the occasion of Lakshya completing 20 years, in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Farhan Akhtar was asked about the possibilities of a sequel to this Zoya Akhtar directed film.
“We hope Zoya Akhtar brings ZNMD 2”
Farhan initially joked around. He laughed and said, “We have already used the word again in our title, so what should we name part two? We have the story but no title and so we are stuck. This has happened for the first time in the history of filmmaking.” However, he then got serious and gave a serious update to all the fans of this film. Hrithik Roshan– Directed life based drama.
“We all want a sequel as it is a favourite film. We are often asked about the second part of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as the audience has loved the film. We all hope that Zoya will come up with something for the sequel. It is her brainchild, so we hope.”
“Lakshya is the story of the ultimate sacrifice”
Farhan also spoke about the possibility of making Lakshya in a backdrop other than the Indian Army with the aim of reaching the top. He said, “A story of a coming of age can be based on any backdrop, but Karan Shergill’s story cannot be made on a backdrop other than the Indian Army because it is a story of supreme sacrifice.”
Farhan’s producing partner Ritesh Sidhwani has meanwhile confirmed that Excel Entertainment is planning to make Madgaon Express 2 in the near future. He said, “It will definitely be made, because that is our intention. Kunal Khemu He is the right person to answer the question about the timetable of Madgaon Express.
