According to preliminary information by ticket booking apps, more than 500,000 tickets were sold. The first day of the film is around Rs 30 crore, which is a humble person for any anime film release in India.
Theaters rolled out the special show in the metros – from midnight to 5 am – the first time. Publicity originally translated on the big screen. As the film hit theaters on September 12, the first day and first audience called it one of the most electrified anime theater experiences in the recent memory. On the social media platform X (East Twitter), the hashtag #Demonslayerinfinityclactle began trending within a few hours of its release, fans praised breathtaking animation, emotional story and intensive war scenes.
The film directed by Haruo Sotozaki lasts two hours 35 minutes and brings a brilliant voice cast including Kana Hanajawa, Sorry Hayami, Natsuki Hana, Reena Ueda, and Takahiro Sakrai – who is an experienced voice actor behind Giyuoka.
Along with being a climatic chapter of Infinity Castle Arc Saga, Sakurai specifically spoke to India today because he reflected with his journey with character and a huge response from Indian fans.
Excerpts of conversation with Takiro Sakurai:
Question: The Epic Giau, Tanjiro vs Akaja fight takes place in this film. What was your ritual before starting the voice acting, and how did you contact Giyu?
A: First, thank you very much for watching the film. For the question, it does not apply only to ‘demon Slair: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle’. I do not make any special preparations for any of my work, or special routine. I just need script, a pen and myself. The recording studio helps to bring my character into life in the environment created by the team for the team and every task. Being in a studio, he flipped the switch for me to become a character. This is the only routine to bring me the best in work in each project.
Q: giyu Most are silent/stoic but such a loyal hashira. This time, did you do something different or perhaps a dialog that helped you prepare for intensity?
A: Actually I do not try to change myself consciously; This is the character that naturally replaces me. How I experience it is close to it. The development of my character from Hashira Training Arc to Infinity Castle was really good. I saw my character was unlocked through my encounter with Tanjiro. I was able to relax and get closer to it. I naturally get ideas how to bring him into life. Giyu’s development opened up new possibilities how I could portray her. I am enjoying that change.
Question: Fans in India love Anime, especially ‘demon Slair’. Do you know about it? Have you seen anything from India that probably inspires you?
A: A while ago, my co-star Hanna, who plays the role of Tanjiro, traveled to India. Hanai was in Mumbai, I was in Yokohama. Interestingly, Mumbai and Yokohama are sisters. We were connecting through a live broadcast to celebrate the fact that we are in sisters cities. It was amazing to see how enthusiastic people in India were. His passion was really inspiring. I could really feel that people were enjoying the film. Seeing this, I felt that I would like to go there someday. I will go, of course.
Question: Do you have any message for Indian fans?
A: I do not want to make a very formal sound, but I am happy that you are all enjoying the movie. And as I said earlier, I would like to visit India someday. The upcoming developments in the ‘Danav Slair’ series will continue with a serious tone. And thanks to this work, I get to interact with many people, but since there are intensive views in each part of the story, I sometimes struggle a little to maintain my own emotional balance. I am thinking of things like ways to prepare myself. Knowing how much love you give us, I will be sure to travel someday.
As the gradient reflects his own developed relationship with ‘Infinity Castle’ and Giyu Tomioca, there is no doubt that the incident is only growing up. From Nepal and Bangladesh to the United States, Britain, Spain and Turkey, the ‘Danav Slair’ Universe has firmly cemented itself as a global pop culture force.
‘Demon Slair: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle’ is now in theaters.
