The Hindi film industry is riding on the franchise wave, as familiarity for the title is attracting more viewers on the big screen. As Kesari 2 is slowly moving towards the emergence of a success story, business 2 is boom to make a positive start at the box office. Housefull 5 and Sitare land across the land are also expected to bring to light on the box-office. As things are getting hot at the box office in this summer, Pinkvilla has specifically learned that three more franchise films are in development.
According to sources close to Vikas, director Sujoy Ghosh has started the process of writing for Kahni 2 with Leadya Balan. “Kahani is a favorite franchise, and Sujoy is trying to crack a script, which is entertaining as the earlier films of the franchise. While Vidya is riding on the film on the basis of the idea, she is waiting for Sujoy to complete the screenplay,” reveals a source.
This is not all, director Vikas Bahl is also working in the sequel of his sleeper hit queen, in the lead with Kangana Ranaut. “Vikas has already cracked a script for Queen 2, but the legal teams are finding out the rights of the title, as the producers of the first film are no longer present as a unit together. If not, the film can be made with a new title, but the same actors can be informed, informs that Kangana and Vikas have already discussed the script.
Another part in Making is two David Dhawan Comedy, Mujse Karogi, while the first one was made by Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, producer Sajid Nadivala is planning to make Mujashe Shadi Karogi 2 with three young established actors. “MSK 2 is currently in the scripting phase, and its end result depends on how the script takes shape. If Sajid is happy with the script, he will start the casting process, or put the film on the backburner. The idea is to make another comment of error with three leads,” the source is concluded.
