Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror-comedy Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, has taken the Hindi film industry by storm with its massive success. Along with Shraddha and Rajkummar, Abhishek Banerjee’s extraordinary performance also received much praise. In a recent interview, Abhishek shared his views on not getting the award for his role in Stree, saying that he really deserved it.
During a house tour with Pinkvilla, Abhishek Banerjee showcased his awards collection and talked about important milestones. He said, “These are some of the important awards that I have won in my short acting career in these 6 years. But God has blessed me with many well-wishers like all of you.”
The actor humorously revealed that none of his awards are for women and said, “I haven’t received any awards for women yet. None of these are for women. There should be an award for women also.”
The Stree franchise is a testament to how each actor’s contributions added depth to the story, while the success of the franchise elevated their careers. When Amar Kaushik introduced this horror-comedy in 2018, it became an instant favourite, leaving audiences eager for more.
By popular demand, Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has surpassed all expectations and hit the theaters on August 15, 2024.
Stree 2 not only won the hearts of critics and fans, but it also became the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. The entertaining story, great performances, and witty dialogue were instrumental in its success, cementing the film’s place as a franchise phenomenon.
Meanwhile, boosted by the success of Stree 2, Abhishek Banerjee has already moved on to his next project.
