Actor Steve Carell’s surprise appearance on a commercial set surprised both David Beckham and his son Cruise. The humorous interaction quickly went viral, much to the delight of fans as the trio laughed and posed for photos.
For once, it wasn’t football royalty who was making headlines on the set. it was Office Star Steve Carell casually walks into the frame and star footballer David Beckham and his young son Cruz Beckham both look surprised.
Cruise recently enjoyed a total fan moment after meeting Carell while visiting his father on the set of a Lay’s commercial tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, “No Lay’s, No Game.” This hilarious interaction was later shared by David on TikTok on May 27, and quickly became a hit among fans.
In the video, David can be seen calling Cruise before introducing him to the actor. “By the way, Cruz is Steve’s biggest fan,” he says before quickly admitting, “Well, we both are!”
Cruise, clearly trying and failing to maintain his composure, walks over and says, “I’ve never been starstruck,” prompting David to jump, “Me too!” Carell, staying completely in character with his dry humor, responds, “How disappointing.”

David captioned the post: “Can you tell we were excited to meet Steve aka Michael Scott?” Honestly, the answer was written all over Cruz’s face.
Things got more interesting from there. “I’ve never been so excited to be on set,” David confessed before the trio posed for a photo together. Making sure he and Cruise stood on either side of Carell, David unwittingly prepared himself for the perfect punchline, with Cruise joking that his father had positioned him that way so he could bite him later.
Cruz’s wide-eyed reaction – accompanied by an open-mouthed expression of disbelief – immediately became a highlight of the video, with fans filling the comments section with reactions. Many viewers admitted that they would have had the exact same reaction about the actor best known for playing Michael Scott on The Office.
