Emraan Hashmi said in the podcast that actors often have a distinct label that serves as an “easy identification” for them. He gave his own example, saying he is commonly known as a “serial kisser” because many of his films feature intimate scenes.
He also said that this tag has been a defining aspect of his Bollywood career.I think a lot of artists have a patent thing going on; an image gets set with the logo “I think for a lot of actors it becomes a patent thing. An image gets established and they don’t budge from it,” the “Showtime” actor said.
Emraan also said, “I don’t know what it is. I think it’s a label, or an identification with an actor, and it becomes an easy identity for them.”
During the conversation, Emraan Hashmi discussed how certain dialogues or actions have become synonymous with iconic Bollywood stars. He cited examples such as Shah Rukh Khan’s signature open-arm pose, Anil Kapoor’s catchphrase ‘jhakaas’ and Salman Khan’s habit of taking off his shirt in films. These traits have become an integral part of their identities apart from their illustrious careers.
Emraan Hashmi says filming intimate kissing scenes in “Murder” was a challenging aspect in Hindi cinema at that time as the audience was not used to seeing such bold and outspoken rebellious characters on screen.
On the professional front, Emraan Hashmi was recently seen in Sara Ali Khan-starrer ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.
Apart from this, he has two upcoming Telugu films ‘OG’ and ‘G2’. Apart from this, Imran will also be seen in the second part of the first season of ‘Showtime’.
