Elon Musk has revealed that former US President Donald Trump would sometimes call him “for no reason”.

On stage at Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting in Austin, Texas, Musk also said that Donald Trump is a big fan of the Cybertruck.

“I don’t know exactly… I’ve had some conversations with him, and he calls me out of the blue, for no reason… I don’t know why, but he does,” Musk said.

He joked, “And it’s great when he calls, and I think electric cars are great for the future. America’s leaders love electric cars, buying America and things like that.”

“I think a lot of his friends now have Teslas and would love to have one, and he’s a big fan of the Cybertruck, so I think those may be contributing factors as well,” Musk said.

Earlier, Trump praised Elon Musk at a rally in Arizona, saying he is a “big fan” of both electric vehicles and the Tesla owner.

On stage at the annual shareholder meeting in Austin, Texas, Musk described himself as pathologically optimistic. “If I wasn’t optimistic this wouldn’t exist, this factory wouldn’t exist,” Musk said to thunderous applause. “But I deliver results in the end. That’s the important thing.”

He said late Wednesday that the proposals were receiving overwhelming support.

However, the approval does not resolve the ongoing litigation in a Delaware court over the pay package, which some legal experts believe could last several months. The judge in January invalidated the pay package, calling it “unthinkable.”
