Latoya Morgan told the collider, “It was always our plan from the beginning … it was something that we discussed with (Keith David), before we cast him, and also was part of a big plan for many sessions.”
Sexton sacrificed himself for his son Royce, an alternative Morgan says that his death was planned, not wasted. “It was to be in a way that felt special, it seemed that it was the right arc for her character,” she said.
What we learned about Nina and Sexton’s past
One of the biggest moments is the Philadelphia flashback in which the meeting of the young Nina is a meeting of Sexton. The view explains the lifetime mission of Nina. Morgan said, “This was a priority for me … to set the table and show the young Sexton … and there are results for those tasks.”
The closing also shows that Nina has been kidnapped and tortured, but she does not return. “This woman is going through it,” Morgan shared. “She is still standing for himself and standing for her father.”
Xavier’s identity Twist: Jim’s brother Joy is alive
A major setback is that Jim’s brother Joy is not dead, he is a jewelery, which is the mysterious figure that is haunting the weather. Morgan shared, “In the beginning … we started thinking about many seasons. It was always a part that we were thinking.”
This turn means that the gym and Nina cannot just leave Arizona behind. Nina’s future in the life of the bureau and gym is related to these secrets.
Duster Finale broke even more heart for the gym. His former Ezi told him that he had cancer, another initial plan that Morgan delayed for a big impact. “Originally, we were going to reveal it in the pilot … it was to be more impressive at the end,” he said. Fans now wonder how Jim Easy and his daughter will take care of Luna, and what Neena lives on their behalf.
With Sexton’s departure, the true identity of Xavier was detected, and Nina’s mission incomplete, the Duster determines new threats. Morgan teased that these big and more doors are open. “Hope you are enjoying the ride … because there is more,” he said.
