Truth Social, the social media platform supported by US President Donald Trump, has launched a new artificial artificial intelligence-secured discovery engine called Truth Search AI as part of his latest attempt to challenge Big Tech, especially Google’s dominance. The beta version of the tool went live on Wednesday, in which Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) announced that it has participated with San Francisco-based perplexity, which is a growing AI startup that provides “North Engine” instead of a traditional search platform. Trump Media said in a press release, “Perplexity, a software and AI -operated by AI company, devoted to providing direct, relevant answers with transparent quotes, the truth is to increase the truth social platform and increase the amount of information available to its users.”

The feature is currently available on the web version of Truth Social, which plans to expand iOS and Android apps.

While the launch has reflected a comprehensive tendency of social media platforms embracing AI, including AI Assistant on Instagram of X and Meta on Instagram and WhatsApp, Alone Musk’s Grock Chatbott, Satya Khoj AI has attracted attention to the political reference around its rollout.

Meanwhile, outlets owned by the state of the National, a UAE said that the answers generated by the tool often depend on conservative-sight media such as Fox News and Appoch Times. However, tests by 404Media suggested that the device is not completely unilateral. In response to questions about the American economy and the trump-era’s tariff, AI offered surprisingly important reactions allegedly citing the negative effects of economic recession and tariffs. Exios reported that the version of the perplexity used by the truth social draws from a narrow set of sources compared to the public-supported version of perplexity. A spokesman for a perplexity confirmed that truth social is using its sonar API, a developer tool that allows adaptation – including source restrictions.

While refused to disclose the financial terms of the deal, the company clarified that like other customers, the truth social, has complete control over how the equipment is installed. The Sonar API, launched earlier this year, contains specially designed characteristics to filter customers or prefer top user requests.

The partnership comes at a time when AI is playing a growing role in American policy and technological development. President Trump has given priority in his administration, an executive order earlier this year to remove obstacles in the US AI leadership. Meanwhile, Perplexity has also attracted criticism on its data practices. The BBC, Forbes and Dow Jones have accused everyone of copying or recurring the company without permission. Perplexity denied the allegations, claiming that they are a fundamental misconception of AI and internet work.
