Do you know that Vidya Balan changed her costume inside a car covered with black cloth while shooting for Kahaani?

Vidya Balan, who made her Bollywood debut with Parineeta in 2005, has emerged as one of the most talented actresses of Hindi cinema. The actress is known for her roles in films like The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and others. Do you know that Vidya Balan changed her costume inside a car covered with black cloth while shooting for Kahaani?

In a new conversation with casting director Mukesh Chhabra for Mashable India, Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh recalls that he couldn’t buy a vanity van for Vidya Balan. Sujoy remembered that their budget was “low” and the actress managed to change her clothes in the car on the sets of Kahaani.

“We didn’t even have any budget to buy a vanity van. We didn’t have the luxury of stopping the shoot because our budget was low. So, whenever she had to change clothes, we covered her Innova with a black cloth, on the road. In between, and she would change inside and come out for shooting,” said the director of Kahaani.

Sujoy Ghosh also praised Vidya Balan for agreeing to work with him in the story. Sujoy shared that Vidya could have refused to work with the filmmaker as her 2009 film Aladdin flopped at the box office.

The Kahaani director compared the actress with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan, saying that she falls in their league. The director said that they were all committed to their work and Vidya remained limited to the 2012 film.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Parambrata Chatterjee also played important roles in the story. This thriller film was also co-written and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh.

The director has made films like Jhankaar Beats, Aladdin, Bang Bang, Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, TE3N, Badla, Bob Biswas, Jaane Jaan and Blind. He last directed a segment, Sex with Ex, in the anthology, Lust Stories 2, starring Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles.

Sujoy is now preparing for his upcoming action film King directed by Shahrukh Khan. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma.
