Akhen (2002), Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and others, are one of the most funded Bollywood films. But do you know, Akshay, who gave a highly acclaimed performance in the film, planned to say this even before hearing the script?
Vipul Shah, who started his Bollywood direction, revealed in an interview with Rajashari in an interview on March 16, 2024, that Akshay did not want to work with a new director. But the star agreed to hear the statement when he was requested by his then manager. According to Vipul, the story increased his interest and he said yes.
“Akshay Khildi 420 was shot by shooting for the film, USN Rat was called.
Vipul Shah remembered that the actor would go for shots in the middle and would return. Then in the morning, Akshay told him that he had prepared to say his mind, but after hearing the script, he was excited to do the film.
Interestingly, Akshay Kumar and Vipul Shah collaborated in many films after Akhin. Vipul directed Akshay’s Wact: The Race Against Time (2005), Namaste London (2007) and Action Rip (2010). He has also built his lion Kenge (2008) and Holiday: A Soldier is Navar of Duty (2014).
Meanwhile, Akshay is currently ready for his awaited film Kesari Chapter 2. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is a historic court room drama in which R Madhavan and Ananya Pandey also act. The trailer of the film was released on April 3, 2025 and received a positive response on social media. The film is slapped to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.
