Actor Sunil Shetty, known for his honest opinion on national issues, recently reacted to a boycott call against Aamir Khan’s upcoming film ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’. When asked about the ongoing backlash against films amidst the stresses of India-Pakistan, Shetty advised people to ‘not judge the past’. He also said that famous celebrities often inadvertently become goals with people who may have a ‘controversial background’.

Shetty, in an interview ABP NewsReplying to criticism, Aamir has faced a boycott against ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ following his 2020 Turkish trip paintings. He said, “People should forget the past. The history of the past does not represent today’s time. Turkish situation is very different then and now. So we should be our own decision instead of doing justice on the basis of the past moving.”

He added, “When you go for big social ceremonies, you do not always know those you are presenting for pictures. In today’s time, if you do not pose, you are called ‘Rood’, and if you do this inadvertently, you have still become a goal. It has happened to me many times – it is many times with me – I have anything to stand up with a controversial background. The actor concluded, “I once participated in an event organized by a company, which looked very promising. Two years later, it became a scam. It becomes extremely difficult to separate and judge people or organizations in such scenarios.”

The boycott against Aamir’s film began when her 2017 photo went viral during the ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ shoot with Turkish First Lady Emin Erdogan with Turkish President Recep Tayap Erdoan and a 2020 photo.

In a recent interview with Today IndiaShetty was questioned about Bollywood’s silence on Operation Sindoor. Defending the Hindi film industry, he said that celebrities refrain from speaking not due to backlash but for fear of being associated with politics.

His recent release ‘Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath’ received praise from fans on X. The film is based on unseeded warriors who defended the ancient the Somnath temple (first 12 out of 12 Jyotirlingas) Dedicated to Lord Shiva against the Tughlaq Empire.

Shetty’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ next time will be seen with Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ravena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.
