Actress Disha Patani’s sister Khushboo said she was caught in the lathi charge during a protest in Delhi demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. In a video message, he described the crowd as peaceful and said that despite the violence, women felt safe.
Actress Disha Patani’s sister Khushboo Patani said she was caught in a lathi charge during the youth-led protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in Delhi on Monday, where the protesters demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In a video message, Khushboo revealed that along with her, many other girls were also beaten badly.
Khushboo took to Instagram to register her presence at CJP’s Chalo Sansad march, saying that she had secretly joined the students. She covered her face with a mask, wore a cap and joined the protest at Jantar Mantar.

In her Instagram Stories, she mentioned that the protest site felt safe despite the heavy turnout. She said there were millions of people there, but women did not feel unsafe, and said that many men walked with their hands raised above their heads to avoid unwanted contact.
Khushboo said that she is now a fan of Gen Z and admires their spirit of protest. He said, “Students were in lakhs and law enforcement was in hundreds. Given so many examples of protests in the world, they could have done anything. But our Gen Z students chose peace.”
Khushboo said, “They faced the lathicharge but did not raise their hands. Some were hit on their heads and legs. The girls were beaten badly. I myself was running and some of them also hit me. Everyone ran away after seeing what was happening.”
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) had called for a march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament, where the protesters had been camping for a month. Thousands of people gathered at the designated protest site, but security forces tried to disperse the crowd heading towards Parliament, but the march was met with lathi charge and tear gas shells.
Several film personalities including actors Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Preity Zinta, Nandita Das, Shabana Azmi, Sutapa Sikdar and Diljit Dosanjh also joined the youth-led CJP protest.
Recently, actor Rajkummar Rao urged for peace, dialogue and compassion amid allegations of police violence, celebrity endorsements and continued demands for exam reforms.
