Director Vetrimaaran responds to request to make a Tamil film with Jr NTR
Tamil director Vetrimaaran has reacted to Jr NTR’s wish to work with him in a Tamil film. The filmmaker told a journalist that he has spoken to the Devraa actor about a new film that he may start after he completes his current commitments.

Tamil director Vetrimaaran responded to actor Jr NTR’s wish to work with him in a film. Speaking to a journalist recently, the popular filmmaker said that he is already in talks with the Telugu superstar about a film. The director highlighted that a film with RRR can be expected once they both finish their existing commitments.
Speaking to independent journalist Prakash, the director said that they had discussed an idea earlier and they might meet again. Vetrimaaran said, “I had met Jr NTR earlier and discussed an idea. Let’s finish our existing commitments. Then, we will meet and talk.” When asked if the script is ready, he said, “No, we have just talked”.
Earlier, during the promotional event of his latest film Devraa: Part 1, Jr NTR expressed his desire to work with Vetrimaaran. He told the media that he respects the director’s filmmaking style and would love to work in a Tamil film if he agrees to cast him.
He said, “I will ask my favourite director Vetrimaaran sir to please do a film with me. Let’s make a straight Tamil film, and later we can dub it in Telugu.” His sincerity and love for the famous Tamil director won the hearts of the Tamil audience.
Vetrimaaran is a five-time National Award-winning director. His second directorial venture, the 2011 Tamil film Aadukalam, starring Dhanush in the lead, won six National Awards. The director is known for telling unique stories with equal importance to critical and commercial reception. Some of his famous works include Polladhavan, Visaranai, Vada Chennai and Asuran.
The director is currently busy with the post-production work of Viduthalai Part 2. Apart from this, he is also scheduled to start work on Vaadivasal with Tamil actor Surya.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR’s Devraa, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor, is hitting the screens on September 27. The actor is working on War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. The YRF film, which is a part of the spy universe, is being directed by Ayan Mukerji. He also has Prashanth Neel’s Dragon in the pipeline.
