Rishab Shetty’s own National Award winning film, ‘Kantara’, titled ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, was released in theaters on 2 October. In the film, singer Diljit Dosanjhi performs the Hindi version of the song ‘Vidar’. Shetty recently talked about the process of bringing Dosaanj on the board for the soundtrack. He highlighted that Dosanj’s inclusion was part of an attempt to introduce a singer, which was not from Karnataka, leaving a separate linguistic element to the film’s music.

In an interview with News18Rishh Shetty discussed her discovery for a unique voice for the film’s soundtrack during the post-production phase at Kochi.

He said, “I was in Kochi because the post-production of our film was going on. At that time, we wanted to bring a singer on board for a song, who speaks a different language and who is not from Karnataka,” he said.

Shetty initially wanted to work with Diljit DosanjA prominent singer from outside Karnataka, but facing a brief moment, where he could not remember Dosanj’s name. “The next morning, I suddenly thought about Diljit, but I got trapped because I didn’t remember her name (laughing).
