Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has created concern online after a video of his recent concert in Canada went viral on social media, with fans reacting to his comments on life, death and renunciation. The clip is from his April 30 show at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, part of his Aura World Tour, where he stopped briefly in the middle of the performance to address the audience.

In the video, Diljit is heard speaking in Punjabi and sharing personal thoughts. He said he no longer feared death, talked about feeling different and said that although he once felt he had “already left this world”, he still had responsibilities to fulfill before moving on. He also talked about removing negativity and said that Punjab remains the center of his identity.

During the concert, Diljit told the audience, “I have already left this world. I have no fear of death. Last December I was trying to get out of this body. But now I have to do some more things before I leave this body. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is not just a matter of Punjab; it is and always will be. I have already left this world; this is the truth. I am standing on this stage and this is my God.”
Later he talked about living with love, respect and forgiveness and said that he has no enmity towards anyone. Making an emotional reference to Punjab, he said, “I have no fear of death, and I have no animosity towards anyone. I love everyone. Love, respect and forgiveness. I am trying to bring that into my life as much as I can. The people who are still with me, that is the name of Punjab. I am Punjab. What do you say?” He added.

Some users questioned whether the singer was facing trolling or pressure, while others talked about the need to take mental health seriously and the struggles public figures can face even at the peak of their careers.
One user wrote, “I didn’t know he was getting constant hate? I thought he was liked a lot. Why?? (sic)”, while another commented, “Unfortunate how people troll it. Avicii, Chetser Bennington, Amy Winehouse, SSR – many of them were lost when they were at the peak of their careers. As someone who battled severe depression while doing exceptionally well in my career, Yes, I can confirm how hard it feels to get out of bed. I really hope Indians start taking mental health seriously instead of trolling it and making it worse.
