Dhurandhar tops Netflix in 22 countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE
Espionage-thriller Dhurandhar has set a global benchmark after its OTT release. This film is currently trending at number one in 22 countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
Director Aditya Dhar stalwart The success at the box office has set a new benchmark. The espionage thriller made its OTT debut on January 30 and as soon as the film arrived on Netflix, it was trending at number one in over 22 countries.
Netflix India on its official X handle revealed the names of the countries where stalwart Trending at number 1. It reads, “Storm in 22 countries, stalwart Trending at #1 globally…(sic)…Trending countries: Canada, United Kingdom, Morocco, Mauritius, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Hong Kong, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Maldives. Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UAE, Australia, New Zealand…(sic).”
One of the most important attractions of stalwartAs reported, the proliferation of OTT is dominated by the Middle East and Pakistan Sacnilk. The report states that it is the number 1 film in 10 countries: India, Pakistan, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius, Kuwait and Oman.
The film was banned theatrically in many of these regions, including Pakistan and several Gulf countries, as its geopolitical themes were considered sensitive in these regions. However, since its release on Netflix, the spy thriller has ranked in the top 5 in 23 more countries around the world, including many of these countries.
In stalwartRanveer Singh plays the role of undercover agent Hamza Ali Mazari. The film also brings together a formidable cast: R Madhavan as Indian spy master Ajay Sanyal, Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, Akshaye Khanna as real-life gangster Rehman Dacoit and Arjun Rampal as ISI Major Iqbal, who is reportedly inspired by terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri.
This film is also Sara Arjun’s first film with Ranveer. Actors Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Gaurav Gera, Danish Pandor, Raj Zutshi, Saumya Tandon and others are in lead roles.
