Dhurandhar: The Revenge collected around US$6.10 million (Rs 57 crore) overseas on Saturday. With this, the three-day total earnings of the Ranveer Singh starrer has crossed US$16 million (Rs 151 crore). Combined with Rs. 347 crores from India, the worldwide box office collection is just a little less than Rs. 500 crore figure, Rs. Approximately 498 crores.
The film is heading for an overseas extended weekend of over USD 21 million and accordingly a worldwide collection of around Rs. 675 crores or so. To date, only two films, ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’, have grossed more than US$20 million in a weekend overseas. Both of them did so with a strong contribution from the Middle East, where Dhurandhar: The Revenge has not been released. In the same set of markets, Dhurandhar is ahead of Jawan and Pathan by about 50 percent, and that’s why both of them are way ahead of everything else.
On Saturday, the film made record single day collections not only in Bollywood but in all the major markets of Indian cinema. The only shortfall was US$2.63 million in the United States, which is lower than Baahubali 2’s US$3.45 million. However, here too, the film was ahead in terms of ticket sales by 25 percent. Australia and Canada set new standards for Indian cinema by earning AUD 1 million and CAD 1 million in a single day. United Kingdom also beat Pathan’s GBP 555K to GBP 643K. For the first film, the US, Australia and Canada were already record earners, with only the UK falling short. Not this time, as the market has been making record numbers since the start and is in a good position to break Pathan’s complete run record of GBP 4.40 million.
The film is performing strongly in other markets as well. For example, Germany has earned over 400K Euros in three days, which is more than Jawan and equal to Pathan. After this, there are places like Singapore, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Hong Kong etc., where large numbers of figures have been revealed, many of them record breakers and many close to record levels.
