Dhurandhar: The Revenge is doing great on weekdays overseas. The film collected around US$2.10 million on Tuesday, crossing the US$25 million mark. The six-day total earnings of the Ranveer Singh starrer film is now around US$25.30 million (Rs 238 crore). Combined with Rs. With around Rs 612 crore in India (net earnings of Rs 510 crore), the film’s total worldwide box office business has reached Rs. Around Rs 850 crore in all volumes.
Tuesday is a discount day in many markets, which leads to a surge in ticket sales and thus increases in collections. Generally, films can make huge leaps, some even doubling. However, Dhurandhar: The Revenge already collected such a good collection on Monday that the discount did not increase the collections much. There was a significant jump in ticket sales, but discounted ticket prices meant that the jump in collections was not as high. This is a rare problem, well… not really a problem.
This also means that Wednesday’s decline will not be as steep as it usually is with the day’s pre-selling, which compares very well to Monday. The first week expansion is likely to push it towards USD 28 million or more. It will cross US$30 million on Friday and is likely to exceed US$35 million by the end of the second weekend.
The top performing regions, the United States, Australia and Canada, are already close to record earnings, with all currently holding the first position. The United States and Australia are expected to reach record numbers as early as Saturday, while Canada could do so a day later. The United Kingdom will take longer and could be a close race.
