Actor-director Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth are now officially divorced. The Chennai Family Court granted divorce to the couple on Wednesday, November 27. They were married for 18 years and then they decided to separate due to mutual differences. They are the parents of two sons, Yatra and Linga.

earlier this year, Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth have filed for divorce After announcing their separation in January 2022. While the duo did not appear for the court hearing thrice, Dhanush and Aishwarya finally appeared in the Chennai court on November 21 for the proceedings in front of the cameras.

Family Court Judge Subhadevi asked Dhanush and Aishwarya about their decision. They expressed their desire to secede, after which the judge announced that The final decision will be given on November 27,

Aishwarya and Dhanush had a grand wedding in Chennai in 2004. Their wedding saw the presence of film industry and political stalwarts. While Aishwarya is the daughter of Rajinikanth and Latha Rajinikanth, Dhanush is the son of directors Kasturi Raja and Vijayalakshmi.

On January 17, 2022, Dhanush and Aishwarya shared a joint statement announcing their decision to go their separate ways.

Their statement read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couples, parents and well-wishers of each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment and adaptation. Today we stand at a place where Our paths have parted ways. Aishwarya and I have decided to separate as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please respect our decision and let us deal with it. Provide the necessary confidentiality.”

Post separation, Dhanush and Aishwarya are co-parenting their children, Yatra and Linga.
