The morning after a wild cocktail party night inevitably brings about a bad hangover and regrettable headache. However, not anymore.

Wedding planners and modern couples have come up with the ultimate solution to keeping the wedding festivities alive the morning after the party: the detox bar. From refreshing juices to health drinks and even IV drips, these detox bars offer everything you need to cure a hangover.

Like a chaat corner or a wedding favor stall, a detox bar is a dedicated space at the venue to help you recover from the effects of alcohol.

This trend is being especially incorporated in luxury destination weddings.

“Indian weddings are known to be lavish and lavish, but now, couples are looking to balance that fun with a touch of wellness. Detox bars add a thoughtful twist, something modern and unique that makes guests feel taken care of. This is a trend we are seeing more and more, especially in weddings that want to stand out,” says Reshma Ramaiah, co-founder, director and partner of US operations at luxury wedding planning company Resh & Company.

“Detox bars play an important role, especially at destination weddings, where many ceremonies feature a range of amazing cocktails. In such a setting, detox bars act as a much-needed savior,” explains Ruchin Kohli, director and founder of Occasion Experts and vice president of North EEMA (Event and Entertainment Management Association of India). Aesthetics are not a problem. These detox bars are often decorated with fresh fruits, vegetables, lush greenery, and attractive signage, ensuring top-notch visual appeal. In fact, they often double as another Instagram-worthy spot at the wedding.

What to Expect at a Detox Bar?

Detox bars are meant to keep things light and refreshing.

“You’ll typically find fruit and herb-infused waters, fresh juices, electrolyte drinks, natural or flavored options for quick rehydration, and maybe even healthy shots like apple cider vinegar and chlorophyll shots,” explains Reshma Ramaiah.

Some couples take it a step further with rose or lavender-infused tea or healthy smoothies for a touch of luxury. The idea is essentially to create a space where guests can recharge in a stylish way.

“These shots aren’t just popular at weddings; They have also become a trend at corporate offsite functions, helping individuals feel refreshed the next day,” says Ruchin Kohli.

The key to creating a great detox bar at your wedding lies in focusing on the details.

“A detox bar should look beautiful – imagine fresh fruit, vibrant drinks and maybe some flowers or greenery to tie it into the wedding theme. Diversity is also important; Offering a mix of juices, waters and other options ensures there is something for everyone,” suggests Reshma.

To make it more of a fun experience for guests, you can also add interactive elements like a make-your-own smoothie station.

Not just for morning celebrations, these detox bars work for late night parties too.

“The detox bar has also become a kind of extension of the main bar, allowing people to take a wellness shot before bed,” says Kohli.

What’s the buzz about IV drips?

IV drips – intravenous infusions to deliver a mixture of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream for health benefits – have also made their way into weddings. Popular for promoting health and providing instant glow, these drips are being seen as a quick solution to cure hangover at weddings.

For example, influencer Alana Panday included this in her bachelorette party for her bridesmaids, and she herself was seen getting an IV drip with henna-decorated hands.

Wedding planners often collaborate with wellness centers, which bring their staff and equipment to provide IV drip services at weddings.

“Ivy drips are becoming a thing, especially at luxury or destination weddings! This is next level pampering for guests who partied a little too hard the night before. Of course, these are done professionally by wellness experts or medical teams to ensure safety. It’s not very common yet, but for the right crowd, it definitely has a wow factor,” explains Reshma. Wellness at weddings is not a new concept. Many hosts, especially destination weddings, go the extra mile to pamper their guests with therapeutic spas and welcome hampers containing herbal teas and refreshing beverages. Curated welcome kits often include hangover-cure pills to keep post-party troubles at bay.

Nandini Srinivasan of The W Code, a wedding planning company, tells us, “After the sangeet night, which often lasts till early morning, we usually return to the venue the next morning to allow the guests to relax and enjoy the haldi ceremony. “Arrange massage services.”

But these peppy detox bars and IV drips have taken it up a notch.
