Rohit Shetty has created quite a stir among fans by introducing Lady Singham Deepika Padukone aka Shakti Shetty in Singham Again and we love it! However, what we can’t forget is our lovely Meenamma, aka Meenlochani Azhagusundaram, from Chennai Express. Deepika played both the roles well and in a recent interview the director was asked which character was closer to her heart. Scroll down to know the answer!
In a conversation with Mashable India, when Rohit Shetty was asked to choose between Shakti Shetty or Deepika Padukone as Meenamma, he replied, “Look, Shakti Shetty abhi toh, aage kuch kahaani bangee, but obviously Currently, if you ask me, Meenamma will remain very close to my heart.”
In a recent conversation with News18 Shosha, Shetty discussed the delay in introducing a female policewoman in her cinematic universe. He also gave an update about the standalone film starring Deepika. He shared that he didn’t yet know where he could go with the concept he had in mind.
He explained that he wanted to ensure that there was a suitable script for the character. The director admitted that until 2018, he had not even imagined a full-fledged cop universe.
The idea of including a female policewoman played by Deepika Padukone first came up during the development of Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi.
Talking about a standalone film for Deepika’s character Shakti Shetty, Rohit clarified that the script is yet to be written. He mentioned that although a concept exists, the team is still exploring its direction.
The filmmaker shared that while he understands the essence of Shakti Shetty’s character and her initial story, her entire journey as envisioned by him as a writer and director is still unfolding.
While Rohit assured fans that a film centered on Lady Singham is definitely in the pipeline, he emphasized that her introduction in Singham Again was not without purpose, and that her prominence in the latest installment highlights her importance in the wider universe. Reflects.
The cast of Singham Again also includes Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. The film is currently performing successfully at the box office and theatres.
