Death of breast cancer has decreased in America: what does this mean?
For American women, overall breast cancer mortality declined continuously from 1990 to 2022, declining 43.5% in that period. However, now they have stopped falling.

A new study has indicated that breast cancer in women in the US has declined in mortality. The mortality rate has declined in women over 75 years of age and women under 40. The data in more than 75 women was shocking for researchers.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women, and the second major cause of cancer deaths in American women, with more than 42,000 women dying of disease in 2024.
Prior to 1990, the rate of breast cancer was increasing and the mortality rate was flat or increasing.
Since 1990, there has been a steady decline in breast cancer mortality, which most experts are holding it responsible for the comprehensive use and treatment of mammograms.
Researchers Debra Montician and R. of the Dell Medical School of the University of Texas. Edward Hendric wrote in his paper, published in the Journal of Breast Imaging, that the overall breast cancer mortality for American women has come down from 1990 to 2022, falling to 43.5% in that period.
The lowest rate has been a decrease of 1.23% per year from 2010 to 2022. Women aged 20 to 39 have decreased by 2.79% per year in breast cancer mortality from 1990 to 2010, but remained flat since 2010.
He also found that women of over 75, breast cancer mortality, decreased by 1.26% per year from 1993 to 2013. He said that previous research confirmed that he confirmed the findings that the mortality rate declined to more than 40 and women above 75.
This was particularly observed due to a significant increase in phase IV breast cancer in diagnosis in these two age groups. Stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer in diagnosis is diagnosed with a very poor disease: 31% 5-year survival rate.
“The fact that breast cancer mortality rate has declined for women over 74 years of age,” said Monticciolo said, “This is in addition to women under 40 years of age, in addition to seeing the fall in mortality from breast cancer. These groups are discouraged by some US guidelines screening breast cancer. ,
Recently after the WHO report, the study has shown that breast cancer by 2050, 3.2 million new breast cancer cases per year and 1.1 breast cancer related deaths.
