Deals: Motorola Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra discounted for the first time

Motorola’s new Razr 50 pair will launch on Monday, July 8. That means they’re technically still on pre-order, but they’ve already had a price cut. That’s just £40 off the Razr 50 Ultra and £20 off the vanilla Razr 50, but it’s a start.

Samsung will hold its big Unpacked event on July 10 (Wednesday), which will include the Galaxy Z Flip6 (and others). Last year, the Z Flip5 had a starting price of £1,050 for the 8/256GB model.

Amazon continues to clear out stock of older OnePlus phones, so older devices are heavily discounted. And we do mean older, the OnePlus Nord 2 dates back to 2021. Still, at £160 with a Dimensity 1200 chipset and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, it’s an interesting alternative to cheaper mid-rangers.

Keep in mind that the Nord 2 got Android 13 as the last update, so it is already outdated. Not a problem if you plan to run a custom ROM, but we have a better option at a slightly higher price.

The OnePlus Nord 2T is from 2022 and gets Android 14. Unfortunately, this will be its last update, but it will continue to get security patches next year. It is £30 more expensive than the Nord 2.

The Xiaomi 12T is also from 2022. However, Xiaomi has put it on a better update path and it will get 3 OS updates in total (not just 2 like the Nord), so it’s running Android 14 right now and will get the final update of 15. Security patches will last until the end of 2026. The 12T is more expensive than the Nord, but it runs the more recent Dimensity 8100 chipset and has a 108MP main camera, as well as a bigger, faster 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is a small, inexpensive tablet. Its 8.7” display only has a 1,340 x 800px resolution, so it’s not the best for streaming, but the Helio G99 chipset can do light gaming. Interestingly, the 128GB version has 8GB of RAM, which is double the 64GB model. It might be worth the £40 upgrade, but the microSD slot means you shouldn’t feel pressured to pick up extra storage anymore.

If you have a ROG phone (or laptop), you might want to pair it with the Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Buds. Of course, these are gaming buds, so you can trigger a low-latency gaming mode by tapping or via Armoury Crate. These are also solid all-purpose TWS buds, with active noise cancellation, IPX4 water resistance, and up to 27 hours of total battery life. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly.
