The OnePlus 13 went global earlier this week. The phone is a little more expensive this time around, but the 16/512GB option is available with a €100 discount, making it the same price as last year’s OnePlus 12. There’s also a cheaper 12/256GB model, but without any discounts. We are also waiting for the OnePlus 13R to become available.

We took the OnePlus 13 for a photo tour of Sri Lanka and did a detailed review, which you can check out – video review too. The company has committed to 4 OS updates and six years of security patches.

This week Xiaomi launched the new Poco X7 series and the pair are already available in the UK. There are two models, vanilla and Pro, which differ mainly in performance and battery.

The Poco X7 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 8400 Ultra and has fast UFS 4.0 storage. The displays on both models are essentially identical and both are excellent – flat 6.67” 120Hz OLED panels with 12-bit colors (Dolby Vision, HDR10+) and Gorilla Glass 7i.

The resolution of these displays is 1,220 x 2,712px. The phone is equipped with a massive 6,000mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge (100% in 42 minutes).

As for the vanilla Poco, the battery is smaller at 5,110mAh with slower 45W charging (100% in 52 minutes).

Both phones are IP68 rated, but have Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the screen. They also have similar cameras – 50MP main (1/1.95”, OIS), 8MP ultra-wide (120°) and 20MP selfie cameras. Note that due to the older chipset, the X7 can’t record 4K@60fps (it tops out at 4K@30fps), but the X7 Pro has that option.

Going back to the X7 Pro, we can compare it with its F-series cousin, the Poco F6, which is priced basically the same. The F6 has a more powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and an almost identical 6.67” 120Hz OLED display with 12-bit colors and 1220p+ resolution (it uses Gorilla Glass Victus).

However, the IP64 rating only offers basic water resistance and the 5,000mAh battery with 90W charging is 1,000mAh less. The 50+8MP rear and 20MP front cameras are not identical but quite similar.

8/256GB – €310 on Amazon Day

The Realme GT 6T is a pricier option, at €60 more for the same 8/256GB configuration as the X7 Pro. It uses the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, which also has a Cortex-X4 core like the 8s Gen 3. The display is 6.78″ large and is a 120Hz LTPO panel (10-bit, 1,264 x 2,780px, Victus 2).

Water resistance is slightly better than the F6 at IP65, but this phone is still not rated for submersion. The battery splits the difference with a capacity of 5,500mAh and supports fast 120W charging. Unlike the pricier GT6 (no T), the camera setup is nothing special (although the 32MP selfie is worth a look).
