Darshan Thoogudeepa’s case has taken a new turn as his wife Vijayalakshmi has clarified her husband’s relationship and denied his extramarital affair. Moreover, Vijayalakshmi said that she is the only legally married wife of Darshan and Pavitra Gowda is just his friend.

According to India Today, in a letter to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Vijayalakshmi wrote, “It is true that she is a friend of my husband Darshan Srinivas, but please note that she is not his wife. I am the only legally wedded wife, we were married on May 19, 2003 at Dharmasala.”
Further, she also said that Gowda was reportedly married to Sanjay Singh and has a daughter from him. Vijayalakshmi urged the officials to set the records right to prevent any legal or personal complications in the future.
Meanwhile, while legal proceedings continue, Darshan is in Bengaluru jail, his judicial custody having ended on July 4. The case has attracted considerable media attention as it involves popular actors, highlighting the need for accurate reporting and clarity in legal documents.
The case of Darshan Thoogudeepa; everything we know
Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his alleged girlfriend Pavithra Gowda were arrested on June 11 in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. The victim, a 33-year-old pharmacist from Chitradurga, had made derogatory remarks against Gowda.
She also accused Darshan of separating from his wife Vijayalakshmi. This did not go down well with Pavitra. Following this, she along with Darshan Thoogudeepa wanted to take revenge on Renuka, who allegedly instigated the murder.
Reportedly, Darshan with the help of his henchmen caught the victim and murdered him inside his garage with multiple weapons. Later, the victim’s body was found lying in a storm drainage.
