Dana Carvey is addressing Lady Gaga’s joke that didn’t go over well during the SNL episode where she came in to imitate Joe Biden. During his appearance on the Fly on the Wall podcast, the actor-comedian reflected on the failed set and claimed that he had a set of Joker ready and should have delivered it instead. In the episode, Carvey was joined by Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg, who also stepped out dressed as political figures.
Speaking to the podcast host, Carvey claimed, “So I do the little Biden piece as part of Brett Baier interrogating Maya-Kamala. And he’s a little confused. He starts talking about the Joker. gives The movie, but they don’t know it.”
According to the clip released by the team of Saturday Night Live, it is shown that Brett Brier, portrayed by Alec Baldwin, takes center stage and plays a video out of context, where Carvey’s Biden is seen bad-mouthing Kamala Harris/Maya Rudolph. can be heard saying.

However, in the next scene, Rudolph clarified that Carvey was not talking about Harris but about the then-upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux. Meanwhile, while recently explaining the process behind the creation of jokes, the actor shared on the podcast that he had better jokes ready. Carvey revealed, “I went; who’s Lady Gaga? You know, whatever. I did that. Didn’t land.”
He added, “I thought later, I should have said, ‘And who’s Whackin’ Phoenix? Who the hell is he? Whackin’ Phoenix would have gotten a lot of laughs.’
