TV actress Daljeet Kaur has reportedly filed an FIR against her estranged husband Nikhil Patel under sections 85 and 316 (2) of the Indian Justice Code. According to a Times Now report, the actress filed a complaint at the Agripada Police Station in Mumbai on August 2, accusing Patel of cruelty and criminal breach of trust.

Section 85 provides for a jail term of up to three years for cruelty to a woman by her husband or in-laws, while Section 316 (2) provides for punishment for cheating.

Following the complaint, the actress shared a post on her Instagram story and thanked the Mumbai Police. She wrote, “Thank you Joint Commissioner of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnakant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache and investigating officer Sachin Shelke and a lady constable for your prompt response and efficiency. I was very nervous while entering the police station but your kindness and sensitive approach towards my plight was truly touching.”

Nikhil Patel, who recently visited IndiaHe was clicked with his alleged girlfriend at the Mumbai airport on the same day. In June, Daljit took legal action in the Nairobi City Court, and obtained a restraining order preventing Nikhil from evicting her or their son from their home in Kenya.

In June, Nikhil issues a written ‘cease and desist’ letter to Daljeet,‘ as reported by ETimes. In an interview with ETimes, Nikhil Patel said that his legal team has made it clear that they will not tolerate any further harassment and “the strictest legal action will be taken against Daljeet if she continues her unlawful actions.”

Daljeet Kaur and Nikhil Patel got married in March 2023 and moved to the businessman’s home in Kenya. Daljeet returned to India with her son Jaden in February this year. Shortly after, the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted several posts, fuelling separation rumours.
