Dacoit starring Adivi Shesh and Mrunal Thakur is scheduled to release in theaters on March 19, 2026. Ahead of its release, the makers unveiled Hindi and Telugu teasers of the film, promising action, romance and thrill.
Dacoit teaser: Adivi Shesh and Mrunal Thakur own the screen, Anurag Kashyap is the main villain
The teaser of Dacoit: A Love Story explores the dynamics between the two lead characters, who share a past. With the heat and chemistry between them never going to wane, the pair is engaged in a mission of a lifetime, transforming into modern-day bandits.

The teaser also shows many interesting moments, with great editing to give the audience a taste of the film without revealing too much of the plot. As Anurag Kashyap is once again on screen as a deadly opponent, Prakash Raj and Atul Kulkarni are also confirmed to be part of the cast in the teaser.
One significant difference between the Hindi and Telugu teasers is the use of old songs. While the Hindi version uses Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Hai from Akshay Kumar’s Mohra, the Telugu version uses Kanne Pettaro from Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Hello Brother.
Dacoit is the directorial debut of cinematographer Shanil Dev, with the screenplay jointly written by him and Adivi Shesh. The project is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda along with Sunil Narang and presented by Annapurna Studios.
Interestingly, the film was originally announced with Shruti Haasan in the co-lead role, and the makers had even released a promo featuring her. However, the actress later left the project, and Mrunal Thakur stepped into the role.
The film is scheduled to release next year on the occasion of Gudi Padwa and will clash with films like Yash-starrer Toxic and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 at the box office.
Professional front of Adivasi Shesh and Mrinal Thakur
Adivasi Shesh was last seen in a cameo role in the Nani-starrer Hit: The Third Case, reprising the role of SP Krishna Dev IPS, also known as KD, in Hit: The Second Case.
After Dacoit, the actor will be seen in ZEE, the sequel to his espionage action thriller Goodachari.
Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur will soon be seen opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in the romantic drama Do Deewane Sehar Mein, which will release on February 20, 2026.
