Dacoit, which stars Adivi Shesh and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, was initially scheduled to release in theaters on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Ugadi this year. However, now the makers have officially announced that the film will be pushed back from the original date and will release on April 10, 2026.
Adivasi Shesh confirms new release date of Dacoit
Taking to its official social media handle, Adivasi Shesh confirmed that Dacoit will release on the big screens on April 10, 2026. Sharing the update, the actor wrote, “Goldfish on April 10th. In theaters worldwide.”

Dacoit: A Love Story is directed by cinematographer Shenil Dev and is based on a screenplay written by Shesh himself. The film tells the story of an angry criminal who wants to take revenge from his ex-girlfriend for cheating on him.
What went wrong between them and why they turned against each other is the emotional core of the story. Anurag Kashyap is expected to play the role of a police officer, with Sunil, Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni and other actors in lead roles.
The film was initially announced to star Shruti Haasan in the lead role. However, due to alleged creative differences, the actress walked out of the project and was replaced by Mrunal Thakur.
The film was earlier scheduled to release on March 19. However, the makers reportedly postponed it to a new date as Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups were also scheduled to release on the same date. However, with the Yash starrer now postponed to June 2026, the release date of Pawan Kalyan’s Ustad Bhagat Singh has been pushed.
Adivasi Shesh’s Work Front
Adivi Shesh was last seen in the lead role in Hit: The Second Case (2022). Directed by Shailesh Kolanu, the crime thriller tells the story of Krishna Dev aka KD, a police officer from Andhra Pradesh’s HIT unit, who investigates gruesome crimes involving female victims.
The film was the second installment in the hit cinematic universe and was both commercially and critically successful. The actor later reprized his role in the Nani-starrer Hit: The Third Case (2025).
Looking ahead, Sesh also has a G2 for release. The espionage action thriller serves as the sequel to the 2018 hit Goodachari and stars Emraan Hashmi, Wamiqa Gabbi, Supriya Yarlagadda, Madhu Shalini, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Suniel Shetty and many more in lead roles.
