Cool has the story of Devraj alias Dev (starred by Rajinikanth), who is a daily-laborer laborer, who runs a mansion similar to a hostel with strict rules. On a terrible day, the deity gets a devastating news that his dear friend Rajasekhar has passed away from cardiac arrest.
As soon as he comes to the funeral of Vizag’s funeral, Rajasekhar’s daughter Preeti (Shruti Haasan) expelled her, making a scene. Regarding the death of his friend, the suspect, the deity examines and reveals that Rajasekhar (Satyaraj) was killed. This inspires him to highlight an invention made by Rajasekhar before his death.
Rajasekhar was collaborating with a crime syndicate run by Simon Zavier (Nagarjuna Akini), which helped them to disintegrate the dead body without trace, using a plasma condenser.
With Preeti’s life in danger, Devraj saves her and decides to infiltrate Simon’s syndicate. Inside the criminal network, the syndicate is operated by the man of Simon’s right hand, Dayalan (Saubin Shahir).
In the next days, Dev helps Simon to dispose of bodies, while Dayalan is looking for a mole. Eventually, Dayalan detects the rat and presents it to Simon.
Hours later, Simon called Dev, who then learns that Simon killed Dayalan, who was a real mole and an undercover police constable. However, after being buried, Dayalan pleads for consciousness and his life.
As Dayalan cheats on the deity and Preeti, it is learned that he was the one who killed Rajasekhar. Now, Preeti is in her fist, and Dev is forced to follow Dayalan’s orders. Meanwhile, Simon suspects the deity, often realizing that she had seen her before.
What is related to Simon and Dev?
Soon, Dayalan tries to orkestrates several tricks to raise Simon’s syndicate. However, Dev eventually counts his tricks, many reveal the hidden truth.
At the same time, Devraj knows that one of the 3 daughters of Rajasekhar, one of them is his own biological child. In search of finding out who it is, Prithi is occupied by Simon and her people. Eventually, Dev comes to know that Preeth is his daughter and becomes firm to save her at any cost.
In a final performance with Simon, Dev reveals his previous connection. Years ago, when Devraj was the Labor Union leader, Simon’s father, Xavier, tried to imprison 100 cools incorrectly.
Before he could be executed, Dev rescued him and killed Xavier in front of a young Simon.
Currently, Dev defeats Simon and ends his reign. It is also learned that Simon was not only involved in smuggling gold, but also in illegal organ trade.
Soon, Simon’s boss Dha (Aamir Khan) arrives to India, only to find out that the deity was the fearless person who once stood for his cools. While Daha threatens to avenge Simon’s death, the deity replied that whenever necessary, he is ready to face him.
In a epilogue, Prithi and Dev share an emotional moment before leaving India with their sisters. However, the deity does not choose to explain that he is his biological father. In a final shot, he sees a picture of himself and his wife (photo cameo by Shobana), which keeps the truth with himself.
