Cool, starring Rajinikanth, directed by Lokesh Kanagarj and starring Rajinikanth, is ready to hit a big screen tomorrow. The film is recording a good advance booking in the Hindi belt despite the limited screen and facing a box office clash.
Coolie sells 25,500 tickets in top national series, eyes 35k finals
As soon as 5 pm (13 August), Cool-Powerhouse sold more than 25,500 tickets in the top three national series- PVR Inox and Cinepolis- for the early days alone. Out of which 19,500 tickets were sold in PVR Inox, while 6000 admissions were later recorded.
With 8 hours still being available, cool is likely to add 10,000 and tickets and add your advance booking to around 35,000. It is a proper good pre-cells for a Tamil film that is releasing with a tent Hindi actioner-wor 2. In addition, Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR are releasing on limited screens in the Cool North Bazaar.
Cool targets the inauguration of Rs 5 crore in Hindi
Rajinikanth starrer is targeting the inauguration of Rs 5 crore at the Hindi box office. This will be a solid opening in view of the limited performance. The film should aim for both footfalls and a good growth at the box office over the weekend. Since it is releasing on Thursday, it will benefit from a long weekend of 4-day.
If Lokesh Kanagaraj directs the opening of opening with a positive word-mouth in the Hindi region, it will easily post a good inauguration weekend of Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore. Unlike other Tamil films, Cool is releasing in important national series in Hindi and has opted for an 8-week OTT window, which can benefit the film extensively.
It will be interesting to see if Coolie crosses the Leo (Hindi) of Thalapati Vijay, and later emerges as the biggest Tamil Groser in Hindi.
