It is official, a 2Nm chipset created by MediaTek is coming in September 2025. Taiwan -based chipset manufacturer MediaTek officially confirmed the announcement in the inauguration Keenote of Computex 2025. Rick Tsai, CEO and Vice Chairman of MediaTek, said the company will tape through its first 2Nm chipset-A14. The new 2Nm chip is not likely to bring major performance and efficiency benefits only for smartphone consumers, but will also enable MediaTek at the forefront of chip -making companies compared to other people likely to continue using 3Nm fabs this year.

In his keynote speaker, MediaTek also announced a partnership with Nvidia. For an enthusiastic response, TSAI NVIDIA CEO was included on the main stage by Jensen Huang, which announced the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, a co-developed platform that would power the AI system in the age devices, cars and more.

2Nm era begins

The large title of MediaTek Keenote was 2Nm chipset, which will begin in September 2025, possibly the flagship smartphone is likely to start and expand for other smart devices.

Why does 2nm mean? The new fab technology is going to push more pushing performance while keeping power consumption less – an important requirement for AI processing. Smartphones and other devices will be able to run locally large, more complex AI models, reduce delay and improve privacy. TSAI has not yet confirmed commercial product names, but indicated that the new 2Nm chips would outline the next wave of MediaTek’s major SOCs. The company said that these chipsets will be produced in collaboration with TSMC.

When Jensen Huang of NVIDIA went on stage, MediaTek Keenote took a surprising turn. The chip is designed to bring the next level AI computing for consumer devices and vehicles.

During the combined section with MediaTek, NVDia CEO Jensen Huang also exposed a significant piece of GB10 Superchip architecture-integration of a high-speed NVME (non-vaporous memory express) link between-CPU and GPU components.

“What we decided to do is opening this infrastructure. Therefore, you can connect NVME’s scale-up NVME link, using a chip-to-chip system, which we have created together using (MediaTek). Now you can add your intellectual property, your discrimination to our system”, said Huang.

The GB10 superchip is being deployed as a flexible platform for everything from the in-car system to the high-demonstration AI-Eg applications, combining the AI calculation muscles of NVIDIA with the strength of MediaTek’s mobile and connectivity.

“We are making something that mixes the best of both the world,” said Huang. “This is how we intensify AI for all.”

Another major highlight from Keenot was unveiled by the Dementenance Auto Cockpit platform of MediaTek-the most advanced set of the in-car chipset so far. TSAI insisted that the platform is designed to support graphics, multi-display setup and seamless connectivity, which is a MediaTek position as a serious player in the rapidly developing smart mobility space. For now, there is no description of whether any Indian auto manufacturer has participated with MediaTek for this.

Tsai, in his keynote speaker, emphasized that MediaTek is not only to make better chips, but “enriches life with intelligent technology” whether in smartphones, smart homes, or in a self-driving car.
