The District Child Protection Unit in Gujarat has issued a notice to British rock band Coldplay ahead of their concerts at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025. The band, including lead singer Chris Martin, have been instructed not to attend. Children present on the stage during the performance.
Organizers have been instructed to ensure that no child enters the venue without earplugs. The unit stressed that sound levels exceeding 120 decibels can harm children’s health, and failure to comply may result in strict action. The notice comes after a complaint filed by a resident of Chandigarh.
Apart from performing in Gujarat, Coldplay will also perform in Mumbai.
Earlier, Coldplay had announced shows in Mumbai on January 18, 19 and 21, 2025. The band, comprising lead singer Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion, last performed on the Indian stage in 2016. Global Citizen Festival was also organized in Mumbai.
This will mark the band’s return to India after a gap of nine years.
