An Indian man was arrested with 60 kg of cocaine in Port Huron, Michigan while he was trying to cross the border into Canada. Driver Chandan Tayal was stopped by CBP at the Blue Water Bridge and upon searching his car, officers found two suspicious boxes. Tayal told investigators that the boxes contained wooden pallets and cheese powder and were being transported from Wisconsin to Brampton, Ontario.55 shrink-wrapped bricks of cocaine were found in those two boxes.Tayal, 27, who claimed he saw the company sealing the truck, said he did not know about the boxes of cocaine, including one of the vacuum-sealed packages that was partially opened.The incident took place in the early hours of June 11.Tayal was arrested and taken into custody while the Marysville Police K9 unit arrived and an officer positively alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.The first box contained 25 sealed packages weighing 27.47 kg, while an additional 30 packages weighing 33.03 kg were found in the second box.In total, approximately 60.5 kg of cocaine was recovered in the bust. Tayal is being held in the St. Clair County Jail pending the investigation.
