Actor-turned-Chief Minister Vijay’s fans have another reason to celebrate ahead of his birthday. While the update on his last film, Jan NayganWill be waiting for his 2017 blockbuster movie Mersal Set for theatrical re-release on June 19.

The re-release is planned to mark Vijay’s birthday falling on 22 June. However, the film will return only to select theaters in Chennai and Chengalpattu. The announcement has already created excitement among fans eager to see the star on the big screen once again.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal It featured Vijay in a triple role, playing the roles of a father and two sons. The film is based on a kind-hearted doctor named Maaran, who charges only nominal fees from patients, but secretly works as a vigilante exposing corruption and malpractice within the medical industry. After his arrest, shocking revelations started emerging about his past.

The film featured an ensemble cast of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, SJ Surya, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Vadivelu, Harish Perady, Kovai Sarala, Sathyan and Sathyaraj.
