Dalton Eatherly, the controversial livestreamer known online as “Chud the Builder,” suffered a major blow in court on June 17 when a Tennessee judge revoked his bond in a separate misdemeanor case. The decision came during a Davidson County hearing where investigators presented footage that allegedly showed Eatherly firing at Joshua Fox before physically attacking him. The evidence directly challenges Etherly’s claim that he acted in self-defense during the May 2026 shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville.

The court hearing gained attention after AcademicsTV shared footage of the proceedings on X. According to the Post, investigators showed surveillance video that captured Eatherly shooting Joshua Fox before allegedly committing any physical attack. This footage relates to the shooting that took place outside the Montgomery County Courthouse on May 13. Fox, a disabled veteran and father of three, was in court with his wife for a child support hearing when the confrontation occurred.Investigators say Eatherly approached Fox and a verbal argument followed. Court testimony states that Atherley left for a while before turning back toward Fox. Prosecutors argue he then reached for his gun, which made the situation worse. A fight ensued and several shots were fired.Officials have recovered seven bullet shells from the scene. Fox was hit multiple times and had emergency surgery. During the struggle, Eatherly also suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.

Judge Melissa Blackburn Chudd builder’s bond canceled amid new allegations and court evidence

The June 17 hearing was related to misdemeanor charges Etherley already faced in Davidson County, including a theft-related case. He was released on $1,000 bond with certain conditions, including refraining from any new arrests. Those conditions were violated following his arrest in the Clarksville shooting case. Eatherly is currently facing serious felony charges, including attempted murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.According to reports from the hearing, Judge Melissa Blackburn cited Earthly’s conduct and online activity when deciding to revoke bond. He reportedly said the decision was based on “what I have seen on social media and Mr. Eatherly’s behavior.”The bond revocation means Etherly will remain in custody while the larger Montgomery County case continues. Prosecutors say the surveillance footage weakens their self-defense argument, while a final determination of guilt or innocence will be made during future court proceedings.
