Filmmaker Christopher Nolan launches odyssey The film’s India premiere began on 10 July in Mumbai with actors Tom Holland and Matt Damon. The trio addressed the audience and thanked the audience for the warm welcome.

Nolan said that he had wanted to bring one of his films to India for many years. Holland praised the energy of the Indian film audience, while Damon said that the reaction meant a lot as it was the first audience to see the film after the first premiere for family and friends.

The Mumbai launch gave Nolan his first opportunity to premiere one of his films in the city. Odissi will premiere in India on July 10 and 11 before releasing in theaters on July 17. Mumbai has been included as one of the official stops of the global premiere tour by Universal Pictures International along with London, Paris and New York.

Speaking at the event, Nolan told the audience, “This is not the first time I have come to Mumbai, but this is the first time I have got a chance to launch a film here. So you are among the first audiences in the world to see this film.” Then he added, “Just a quick one, who was better, Matt or Tom? They’re both fantastic.”

Nolan thanked the audience for coming and said that it is always thrilling to be in India. He said that he has visited the country twice before and each visit has been special. He also said that he had long wanted to launch one of his films here and see it with Indian audiences, whom he described as some of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable cinematic audiences in the world.

Nolan was in India for shooting in 2019 Principle With John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. Earlier, he had visited the country in 2011 to shoot parts of the film the dark Knight Rises In Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur.

He said that this was the first real audience they had stood in front of since the film and what it meant to the team was that the audience loved it.
